Yes, using a licensed electrician ensures your renovation is safe, compliant, and protects your home insurance and future sale value.

2. When should I get the electrician involved in my renovation?

Early as possible, before construction starts, and keep them involved until the job is complete. This will help you meet safety standards, avoid costly mistakes, and provide a Certificate of Compliance for insurance and legal purposes.

3. Can you help design the lighting and power layout?

Yes, we can provide a full electrical design including lighting schematics.

4. Do I need to upgrade my switchboard or wiring for an extension?

We will undertake load and circuit checks to determine if your current system can safely handle the additional load. This ensures your electrical installation complies with New Zealand safety standards.

5. How long does electrical work take during a renovation?

Usually takes between 3 to 7 days, depending on house size and accessibility.

There are two main stages, the “first fix” when wiring is installed behind open walls before insulation and plasterboard, and the “second fix” after interior finishes, when switches, outlets, and fixtures are installed.
